Last week, I made an entry on Wikipedia,
(which is an online public encyclopedia)
where I listed the dimensions in metres.

A few days later someone edited the entry to
add the corresponding measurements in IFP. Their
comment was that Wikipedia was international
in nature, and that since that includes Americans
they were adding the IFP measurements.

This led to a debate over the fact that
the whole world uses metric, and the
the biggest "excuse" that Americans have
for not adopting metric was that they are
not used to it. So adding the ifp only
propagates the problem.

In any case, I'd like to make my point by
adding some other measuring unit used in the
world (by some group, however small),
using the same claim that since this is an
international site used by **fill in the
blank ** it would be appropriate to include
their measurement units.

Does anyone know if of a non-SI, non ifp,
distance measurement unit used by some group in the
world that I could use, just to get my
point across?

Stephen
