Euric,
Have you given up on Wikipedia because you got involved in battles over a
few pages? I rarely get my edits undone because very few are controversial.
A good guideline for permanent change over a long period is "Do the easy
stuff first" and "Fight the battles you can win".
So forget about persuading people to rename things (e.g. '3.5 inch' floppy).
Concentrate instead on measured values where no metric equivalent is given
('Fahrenheit', 'acres', 'feet', 'pounds' etc). Addition of metric values
would be unlikely to provoke anyone. You should be able to manage anything
up to 30 unreverted edits in an hour, rather than several days fighting over
half a dozen.
