[USMA:30185] replies

Why is this list setup so that when I reply to a message it goes to the 
sender and not to the list? None of my posts have appeared on the 
mailing list yet, and I hope this one does and is the correct address to 
send to. Other lists I am on are set up so that any reply goes to the 
list, not the original sender. I wonder how many posts are lost to the 
list this way?
