The Campaign against Metric Signage

* ...of a metre, or four inches. Imperial signs (eg 14'6") are accurate to within one inch.

          • ** Dual yard/metre and mile/kilometre signs should only be allowed in Britain on the condition that similar signs are adopted across the Continent.

              * What nonsense. An Imperial bridge may indeed be designed to be 14'6'' wide, but if a metric bridge is designed to be 4.4 m wide, this argument is idiotic. I presume that all new bridges on or over British roads are now built to metric standards.
** No way. Unacceptable. If it should come to this I prefer British withdrawal from the EU. I might be sorely tempted to spray the Imperial units on such signs and then have to face charges for criminal damage.
