Latest news (July 9th 2004) Teletext poll shows 93% oppose scrapping of mile and pint A phone in poll conducted by ITV's teletext service found 93% of 2,340 callers opposed the idea of doing away with traditional measurements, such as pints and miles. The poll was conducted in response to a call by the UK Metric Association that Britain should go totally metric.
