Contest: What is this tool?
By META HEMENWAY-FORBES, Courier Lifestyles
Editor
Can you tell the difference between a metric and standard 6-point socket from a
mile away? Or maybe you're the type who has trouble distinguishing a screwdriver
from a fingernail file?
Whatever your workshop prowess, the Courier is
giving you an opportunity to either show off or acquire some handy
know-how.
Test your mechanical mettle in our "What is this tool?"
contest. Send us your best guesses --- be specific --- on what these tools are.
Some are fairly easy, but others may stump even the handiest of folks. We are
looking for the specific name of the tool and what it's used for. No brand names
or nicknames, and the word "thing-a-mabob" is unacceptable.

Doesn't it just rip your heart out when inch tools are
called standard, when they are not standard at all?
