You miss the point. Adopting a single, universal symbol is for the benefit of the vast majority of users, not for some "special interest groups".

The symbol "g" for grams, for example, is the same everywhere, in every language and in every script. It does not matter whether you are using the Cyrilic alphabet, the Greek alphabet, Arabic script or Chinese symbols, the "g" stands for "grams" in all of them. The same is true for all other SI symbols.
