I get boxes wholesale for various dimensions by the bundle, and bundle sizes range from 15 to 25 boxes. I'm not in a position to get even 100 boxes of the same size each time (it would cost a few hundred dollars for just one size and the boxes would take at least two years for me to use up).
Onetime I found a used box which mentioned both inches and centimeters, but the centimeters were rounded numbers. I didn't write down the name of the manufacturer and I no longer have the box. I searched the internet and used the local yellow pages of the phone book, but I had no success in finding a retail or wholsesale source for metric boxes. I sell a lot of items on the eBay internet auction site. I provide dimensions of my merchandise in metric followed by US Customary units in parentheses. If I began mentioning the dimensions only in metric, do you think I wuld recieve lower bids for my auctions? I want to stop mentioning US Customary units in my product descriptions. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Elwell" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "U.S. Metric Association" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 31 January, 2005 07:50 Subject: [USMA:32143] Re: Metric shipping boxes > If you need a fair number of them (say, 500 or more in a lot), most box manufacturers will print whatever you want on them. If you need just a few, then you're stuck with what you can find -- the vendor we use prints only inches. > > Jim > > At 30 01 05, 10:28 AM, Gavin Young - Renewable Electricity Solutions wrote: > >Does anyone know where I can buy shipping boxes wholesale that have the box > >dimensions in metric units (such as cm) on the box in addition to, if not in > >place of, in.? > > Jim Elwell > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > 801-466-8770 > www.qsicorp.com >
