My point is that at some point the two measures were brought together in order to establish a conversion factor between the two. At this point neither "side" is made to be "better" because of this. I actually agree that with two measuring systems existing in the world today its important to have a clear international agreement on how they compare.

Whichever system is "best" depends on the person - its really not emotional enough to go beyond that.

What country are you from?
In the United States the legal definitions of feet, pounds, gallons, etc. are based on SI, not the other way around.
That's why I put it "at the beginning of the equation."
