1) He was completely rude in his email - which is hardly a good way of 
advocating metric.
2) The timing of the email was quite sensitive, being on the anniversary of 
his friend's (a 'metric martyr') death.
3) His English is atrocious  - considering he's meant to be an 
English-speaking translator!
