Hi Dan:
I have read a few of your mails. But my reply ro USMA are restricted to
issues on Time/Calendar -
especially when a reorientation of thought is needed. However, India changed
for good. Some views I expressed fiollow:

While the world is awakening to implantation of Le Ststeme Internationale
d'Unites (SI-units), is it not a REVERSION to using ancient Weights &
Measures. This is something like *expecting* India to go back and retrace her
legacy to - Guz/Girha; Seer/Chattank; Pal/Vipal and Rupaya/Anna/Pie, which
worked very well with times gone BUT India went ahead to fall in line with
changed technological break-through.Time, now is ripe for Calendar Reform
and adopt (with or without modifications) the idea of *Decimalisation/
Metrication of Time units linked to Length unit as: '1/10^5th of Pi/180
(1-degree) arcAngle at Earth centre'. * Some of my ideas may be viewed at:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/genesis.revealed/calendar.html especially my
834-yr/148 LWks, 896-yr/159 LWks and now refined to 1008-yrs/179 LWks.I send
this for WIDER sharing. Interested individuals can send me E-mail on
pertinent points, if desired.Brij Bhushan Vij

Suppose things were the other way round and mL were legalised to replace
the pint. Would you ask for seventeen and three eights fluid ounces just
to avoid saying half a litre?
How are things asked for in metric countries? Do people ask for a litre, a
half-litre or simply a glass or bottle?
