You appear to be calling me a liar there.
You also appear to be taking a collective line.
how many "one-to-one" emails are you getting from people distancing their
viewpoint from mine?
Think about it.
Oh, and "watch me carefully" if you like.
I enjoy veiled threats and toothless psuedo-authority.

It is meant to prove to these people that you say one thing here and do
differently elsewhere. We have a right to know this about you. You are
from the other side and have to be watched carefully. We have to know when
you are deceiving us.

You quite like the "personal attack" approach.
I like the fact that you like that approach.

You're forgetting the road signs issue. ARM are *enforcing* the law
*against* the display of metric. If you don't agree with this then maybe
you should reconsider your support for both them and BWMA.
Are you kidding? Reconsider his support? The man uses the BWMA forum
(see below) to point out metric signs and jumps for joy when it gets
reported back to him the signs were amended. This is a person who
supports criminals and their criminal activity.
I'm surprised this type of activity is allowed and these people aren't
behind bars. They would be in the US.

Out and about in the mini
June 30 2003 at 11:30 AM SteveH
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
While putting some miles on the mini (I'm running it in) I noticed
some (rare) metric signs between marlow and lane end. There were nasty
looking plastic affairs saying something like "works entrance 600m" (then
400m, 200m etc).
If ARM wan't more info then email me. There were no clues to the
perpetrator but they seemed to be made from flimsy plastic, so obviously
not council.

ARM Inspection Report July 1 2003, 7:18 AM
A local ARM Technical Inspector has filed this report.
"The B road between Marlow and Lane End was inspected
yesterday (30 June) and there were no countdown signs in metres seen.
However, there were signs, also in plastic, giving notice of a new road
surface at the junction of the B road with the turning to High Wycombe.
It is possible that the countdown signs in metres were to road works at
that point, but are no longer there since the work has now ben completed.
Countdown signs to 'Works Entrance' or 'Road Works' by
private construction contractors (like the infamous Transco signs in
2001) are not uncommon, and may flow from the requirement in the New
Roads and Street Works Act 1991 to place countdown signs at intervals of
100m, 200m, 400m and 800m (depending on how large-scale and how much of a
hazard the works are). Yet despite this requirement, the Traffic Signs
Regulations and General Directions Regulations 2002, enacted under the
Road Traffic Act 1984, supersede the 1991 New Roads and Street Works Act
since they specify that all distance signs on British roads must be in
miles and yards.
I also inspected the reported signs at the turning to
Loudwater. Happily I discovered that the 3 signs to a SAAB garage just
off the road have now been amended from '150 metres' to read '150 yds'".
