I saw the post with the article in the Came Bridge newspaper about the old
british pint. I believe that Tony Bennet said that the British government
had passed a law making it illegal to ask for a pint of beer or a lb of
something.
I think you may be mistaken. Tony has always worried how far metrication
will go but I don't think he's ever said anything about it being illegal to
ask for a pound/pint
Some one might say to me John if you feel this way why don't you e mail
tony and tell him what you think. I wouldn't waste the time typing to him.
Thanks for everybody's time. John Mercer.
I would recommend that you do email Tony. He's actually a very amiable
person. You'll probably end up having a discussion with him.
Don't forget - he's not a member of this forum so to a degree one can only
trust the hate filled words of Daniel etc.
Have a word with Tony.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find he's not a fire-breathing
monster of a man.
