I saw the post with the article in the Came Bridge newspaper about the old british pint. I believe that Tony Bennet said that the British government had passed a law making it illegal to ask for a pint of beer or a lb of something.


I think you may be mistaken. Tony has always worried how far metrication will go but I don't think he's ever said anything about it being illegal to ask for a pound/pint

Some one might say to me John if you feel this way why don't you e mail tony and tell him what you think. I wouldn't waste the time typing to him. Thanks for everybody's time. John Mercer.

I would recommend that you do email Tony. He's actually a very amiable person. You'll probably end up having a discussion with him. Don't forget - he's not a member of this forum so to a degree one can only trust the hate filled words of Daniel etc.
Have a word with Tony.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find he's not a fire-breathing monster of a man.
