Most drinkers (the other 95 %) in the UK do not receive a pint of beer when
they ask for a pint of beer. They get as much beer as a 568 mL glass will
hold. As I have calculated here before most UK beer drinkers, after allowing
for the froth, receive close to 500 mL of beer and about 70 mL of froth.

Is there anyone who still believes this? Even after many pro-metric (not me!) people have proven this to be absolutely illegal?

I recognise that there are false stories from the pro-imp side, but this is just a fasle story from the pro-met side.

BTW - Recently Magners have become popular in the UK - it's an Irish cider sold in pint bottles which you pour into a pint glass. It goes to the rim. Just like the draght version and just like lager, beer etc.

BTW2 - The term "pint"

Shandy must be sold in quantities of 568ml but can be sold in pint glasses.
Beer, Ale, Lager and Cider must be sold in quantities of 1/3, 1/2 or 1 pint and sold in pint glasses.

Seems there are two definitions of quantity that mean the same thing. Go figure.
