It is my firm belief, ... that any metrication transition goes a lot more smoothly, and a lot more rapidly (if we) limit fractions (to zero or near zero) by an appropriate choice of prefixes.
Pat and I misunderstood each other on this because I was referring to the use of common fractions vs. decimal fractions, while he was referring to the use of ANY fractions vs. the use of NO fractions.
Sorry to have confused the issue by not making myself clear.
