What exactly is full metrication? It is the stated position of the U.S.
government to make SI the predominant or preferred system of measurement
but
not the exclusive one. I don't think the U.S. (or U.K., Canada, etc) will
ever be 100% metric for all endeavors. I don't think that it is
realistic.
What I do hope for is that we would become predominantly metric especially
in the areas that count like consumer goods, trade and transportation.
What areas do the US government expect to be in SI and which do they not?
As for dual-labeling, I don't really care but would like to see a metric
only (non-metric optional) option and in the case of dual labeled
products,
metric to come first.
Isn't that in the realm of consumer goods?
