Phil & friends:
What exactly is full metrication?
.....to make SI the predominant or preferred system of measurement.....
Either a country is SI Metric or 'is NOT'. Is there anything like *exactly full metric*? Metric is: What is related to SI metric! Does decimal use for sub- or multiple of units make the SI Metric Language? This is a poser for THINK tanks - to ponder within, and accept NO COUNTRY is yet 'fully metric'. The big question: Are fort holders at CGPM/CCU's *willing to grant METRICATION its rightful status*? Double conversion is a language of the region and NOT that of Le Systeme Internationale d'Unites.

What exactly is full metrication? It is the stated position of the U.S.
government to make SI the predominant or preferred system of measurement but
not the exclusive one. I don't think the U.S. (or U.K., Canada, etc) will
ever be 100% metric for all endeavors. I don't think that it is realistic.
What I do hope for is that we would become predominantly metric especially
in the areas that count like consumer goods, trade and transportation.

What areas do the US government expect to be in SI and which do they not?

As for dual-labeling, I don't really care but would like to see a metric
only (non-metric optional) option and in the case of dual labeled products,
metric to come first.

Isn't that in the realm of consumer goods?
