Apologies for not replying earlier, Daniel. Neil Herron may well be a member of ARM but if he is, he's certainly keeping it a secret as I'm certainly not aware if he is or not.

He seems more concerned with scoring petty points off Sunderland council nowadays.

Neil Herron is a classic example of what I was talking about. He runs the metric martyrs campaign which ostensibly is about protecting the freedom of marketeers from the law requiring them to sell in metric. He (like they all do) says he's not anti-metric.

So what have distance signs got to do with it? What does it matter if a sign says its 500 m to the village of Bourdon? Where are those "I'm not anti-metric" principles?
