I have yet to cross the United Kingdom's only land
border - the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic - in January
of this year the Irish Republic changed from mph to km/h, making this border
yuet another mph:km/h border.
However, at most of the Channel ports on both sides
of the Channel (Dover, Calais etc), ther are signs reminding drivers which
side of the road they should be on. The signs are often in the
language of visiting drivers rather than the language of the country
concerned.
