It's really encouraging to see those evil non SI units disappearing in the tech sector. I know also that all monitors are typically quoting brightness now in candelas per square meter instead of nits and many of our laptops are packaged in boxes that read 5kg or other metric weight depending on the size of the package. Some of the TV's I've seen at work actually have inch dimensions on one side and centimeter dimensions on the other where the description is given in French or Spanish. I guess they think that Americans wouldn't like centimeters mixed with English or something.

Now if only we could get rid of dpi for printer resolution. I've no idea what they'd replace it with but It'd be nice to get that switched.

Way to go tech sector! I guess the price of silicon is quoted in kg - even here in the US!

A San Francisco Chronicle article quotes the price as having risen to approximately $75/kg - up from $32/kg in 2003.
