Dear Pierre,

This is the point I was trying to make the other day about 'metric
conversion'. Many people when they see metric units immediately try to use
'metric conversion' to change the metric measurement back to one or other of
the old pre-metric measures with which they feel familiar.

If you Google for 'metric conversion' most results, if not all, are set up
to convert away from metric units not towards them.

Sometimes this is as subtle as having the metric units on the left of the
screen for your metric input so that the 'right' answers in old pre-metric
measures appear on the right of the screen where by habit and practice we
are used to such things as:

2 + 3 =
3 x 5 =

where we expect to see the 'right' answer on the right.

Do you know of a metric conversion resource on the internet where it is
clear and obvious that conversion toward metric units is being favored?

Cheers,
