As fun as Jon Stewart's comments were, notice that we didn't get a translation into inches. And it looks like Bob and Lee are sticking to the 14 centimeters. A few days ago Bob Woodruff's story ran on NPR, and his wife Lee also described the wound as being 14 cm long. The interviewer didn't ask for a conversion to inches. People are getting used to the idea of medicine being metric.
