Keep in mind that "The Daily Show" is first and foremost, a comedy show. Jon Stewart is usually being facetious, especially when parodying "the average joe." His comments should be taken as nothing more than that.

And it looks like Bob and Lee are sticking to the 14 centimeters. A few days ago Bob Woodruff's story ran on NPR, and his wife Lee also described the wound as being 14 cm long. The interviewer didn't ask for a conversion to inches. People are getting used to the idea of medicine being metric. Bob's story is an amazing combination of tragedy, hope, and perseverance. I wish him the best.
