Resistant, yes, but deaf, no. I don't expect messages like the ones Micheal Payne and I wrote to Audi will get them to change. But it will provide one more (or maybe the first one) expression of interest in metric.
We so often get the response "nobody we deal with has ever asked for metric". Well, we can be the first ones to do so and eventually they will not be able to say that. Then the may say instead "Not many people have asked for metric" and later "Yes, a few people HAVE asked for metric" and still later ... who knows? Sooner or later they will have to admit "Yes, there ARE people out there who want metric."
We may need to erode the old attitude that nobody really wants it (metric) and, like geological erosion, it may be very slow and have to be done one tiny bit at a time. We can contribute those tiny bits.
