I am in the Seattle area too. My GPS V displays all in Metric units.
Also, I get my maps from Mapquest.com in Metric, as well as play in
Google Earth in Metric.
All is well.

route. I finally broke down and bought a TomTom GPS navigator, which
can be set to metric units. What a delight to have it call out to me "
after 200 m, turn right onto 35th Avenue" ! No more getting lost, and
no more having to listen directions given in imperial!
Now if they would just change those pesky road signs!
