Martin,

There are increasing examples of metric units which are left alone as metric
units in US news media (print, radio, and TV). This is true particularly in
news which has originated outside the US, but also in some locally generated
news. For example;in accounts of marathons, of track and field events,
swimming, food and pharmacy facts, and in medical technology.
I oppose the *addition* of non-metric equivalents.

Duality only retards the progress of SI-only. I hope that the EU persists in
rejecting non-SI units after 2009.

Gene Mechtly.
