That's what I did for several decades when I was still actively teaching college level physics.

I took it a step further (to add emphasis although it didn't actually DO anything). I announced that, since the Physics text contained some end of chapter problems in non-metric units, that if I should ever accidentally assign one of those, the class was automatically excused from doing the problem.
