I realize folks in the UK must see this all the time, but the muddle seen in 
this article from The Times about the genetic reengineering of bacteria to eat 
waste biomass and produce petrol is a sterling example of what is wrong with 
the current situation over there (and what we certainly want to avoid here by 
following the Australian model of metrication).

Note the use of  "litres", "square feet", "barrels", and "square miles" all in 
the space of just two paragraphs.

This one just seems like a "classic"!
