One thing I discovered recently is that there is a free service called MSN Direct that digitally transmits weather forecasts via local radio frequencies. If you have a receiver, it can be configured to display local forecasts in Celsius. It's not a weather station itself (just has an indoor temp display). The receiver digitally presents the same local forecasts that the weather service provides to local news outlets. But you have to be an in area where there's a signal (most major urban areas).
Here's the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Oregon-Scientific-WMS802-WeatherNow-Service/dp/B000VSRZ2C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1235071801&sr=8-1 The MSN Direct service is also integrated into some GPS units, so you can also get local conditions and forecasts in your car in Celsius. Also configure the GPS to use metric distance units, ignore those pesky road signs, and you've metricated your world. By the way, I've found that's a line that works very well with law enforcement: "Well, officer, I don't pay attention to those pesky road signs". I've written and asked them previously for them to include Celsius temperature with no luck. This time I called and said I would take membership with a monthly contribution of $20 ($240 year) if they included Celsius in their weather reports. My local station is WAMU in Washington DC, I know others live in the area, if a few of us make the same request it might carry a bit more weight than just me. Mike Payne
