You don't like it because your not use to it.  But if some people are going get 
hung up over the word weight versus mass, then they can use massive to satisfy 
their hang up of the word heavy.

Because that's meaningless. A quantity of blood may be more or less massive 
than a quantity of water. Blood is denser than water, but to say that it's 
more massive doesn't make sense.
