How?

If you have done no wrong and have nothing to hide that can be used against 
you, then you have the right as a free citizen to challenge any individual 
decision.  

Have you ever found out if it is a FAA decision or the decision of an 
individual in your area?  Under what authority would they have the right to 
make such a requirement?

I agree, but as the FAA has the ability to bring my profession life to a 
standstill, it's not good for me at this stage to mess with them.
