I would say that the number that is the most round is primary, no matter what 
the position.  

BTW, I was in the super market today and they had a display of cookies from 
Voortman that was labeled with 300 g only in big bold type on the front of the 
package.  No English equivalents given.

The number and its unit in *first place* (on the left) is most prominent and 
"primary" in the English language.
  
For languages which are written from right to left, the indication on the right 
is more prominent and primary.
