Dear All,

I have recently added and corrected material in the 'Metrication timeline' that you can find at http://www.metricationmatters.com/docs/MetricationTimeline.pdf

Note however that it is now rather long. My practice has been simply to add to it whenever I find anything that is at all historically relevant to the development of the metric system.

Some may enjoy reading it all of it, but for others I suggest searching for topics that interest you. For example if you want to know the part played by people in the UK, then search for UK. If you want to know the part played by Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, or George Washington, then search for each of them by name.

I expect that I will continue to correct and develop this 'Metrication timeline' and I keep thinking of that great line written by Harriet Beecher Stowe in 'Uncle Tom's cabin' where Topsy said: 'I s'pect I just growed.' The 'Metrication timeline' is a bit like Topsy.

Cheers,

Pat Naughtin
