Stan & all:

Don't you agree this is a cause for NOT to *THINK MTRIC*! In a moving car, how
is one able to differentiate between 62 or 60 miles. It is the HARD conversion
that is causing delay in acceptance, since 62 mile is nearest to 100km
(although NOT exact).

It shall be a good idea to put the speeds at 100 km (and 60 mile) in
parenthesis for a man on street understanding Metric (SOFT) conversions more
easily. Nip the eveil in Bud rather than raise itself beyond control.....

This can be understood ven by children, I suppose!

Subject: [USMA:45248] Use 62 mph

Here's an idea to promote metric.

Use 62 mph (100 km/h) in the process of converting to the SI.
People understand 62 mph so why not use it until real conversion takes place.
It would be a subtle way for people to learn metric.

I noticed the use of 62 mph in an add in Roads and Bridges magazine.
