The conversion rule that I advocate is

   30 - 50 - 80

        or

20 - 30 - 50 - 80 -130

The first line means 30 mph = 50 km/h and 50 mph = 80 km/h

The second line has the same meaning, but has been extended to include 20
mph and 130 km/h

Here's an idea to promote metric.

Use 62 mph (100 km/h) in the process of converting to the SI.

People understand 62 mph so why not use it until real conversion takes
place. It would be a subtle way for people to learn metric.

I noticed the use of 62 mph in an add in Roads and Bridges magazine.
