The length of the year and lunar cycle change slowly over time, so finding a "perfect" calendar is a lost cause. I think it is better to find one with convenient adjustments, and, frankly, we already have it. Except for century years, every fourth year is a leapyear and completely predictable. (and for Americans, the year we hold Presidential elections) The century year rule can be tweaked and most humans will only encounter one in a lifetime (at least at an age where they would care). Perhaps before 2400/2500 rolls around, we should consider changing from a 400 year rule to a 500 year rule. It is about time to consider as 365.242 is a better approximation than 365.2425. If we switch then, we are covered to about the year 8000 or 8500 at current rate predictions (debatable). The idea of ONLY tweaking century year rules works until the year is less than 365.24 days (year 35000???).
