I'm surprised. In his book, The Solar Fraud, he extensively uses W/m² as a metric for land usage of alternative power. BTW, I highly recommend the book. It has a few typos and some slightly outdated performance figures for "machines" but the physics is sound and it is all SI. The tone will make a "greenie" scream with outrage, but I have yet to see his analysis or basic conclusions successfully challenged, other than the need for minor updates I mentioned.

BTW, I heartily recommend Prof. Hayden's newsletter http://EnergyAdvocate.com A jewel among energy newsletters (although somewhat reluctant to use W/m²) the articles are mostly metric, and, better yet, SI, although not consistently.
