Here in California at the UC Davis health network (a HMO) they take your weight, er., mass, on scales with electronic options for kg or lbs, the nurse announces it in lbs (it is always set that way), but when you leave even a few minutes later you receive a printed page with your weight reading, e.g., "70.643 kg (155 lbs, xxx oz)".

I asked the nurse why they take weight, sorry, mass, in pounds, and she says, of course, "I don't know".
