I notice that you have chosen the metric system units: “meters and
centimeters” or “centimeters only”.
Might I respectfully suggest that you have chosen an approach to

I say this as I have more than 40 years experience in building
measurement including on-the-job experience and working as a module
writer and instructor for Australian building trades. Our experience
here is that metrication using millimetres is quick (can be completed
in a day), smooth (there is little argument from contractors and sub-
contractors because for the first time in their lives they no longer
have to use fractions of any kind), and economical (after the first
