Didn't you know that all journalists have an extras key on their keyboards which automatically convert the last few words into imperial/customary units. Some journalists have gone as far to write a special macro in WORD which does the job.

So are the skis, of course, except that in recent years manufacturers have started coming up with skis in rather oddball lengths, instead of or as well as in even 5 cm increments.
