Subject: [USMA:47110] ABC Radio interview

Dear All,

I have been invited to do a radio interview with Trevor Chappell for the
Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) from 2:45 a.m. till 3:00 a.m.
Melbourne time tomorrow morning. The program is called ' Overnights ' and it
usually good fun as it invites audience participation.

Trevor and I will take as a theme the early days of the metric system –
specifically its invention and early development. As you may know the metric
system arose out of the ' universal measure ' invented by Bishop John Wilkins
in 1668 and he first published his ideas in London on 1668 April 13. In a
sense, today (2010 April 13) is the 342nd birthday of the metric system.

The ' Overnights ' program will be streamed live to the internet and you can
hear it live by going to this page http://www.abc.net.au/overnights and
clicking on LISTEN ON DEMAND in the right hand column. Or you can go directly
to the 'Listen Live' page at http://www.abc.net.au/overnights/listen.htm

To work out the time where you are, you might like to refer to
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?day=13&month=4&year=2010&hour=2&min=0&sec=0&p1=152
that will give you the time for 2:00 a.m. Melbourne Australia time and you can
find your equivalent from there – then add 45 minutes for the 2:45 start to the
interview.

Cheers,
