R stands for the Egyptian word "er", which means "over" in "one over n". It
means to add the reciprocal of the following number up to, but not including,
the next R. There's also a special symbol "R=" (in hieroglyphs, it looks like
a mouth (the Egyptian letter R) with two lines attached to the bottom of it)
which means two-thirds. This is read as "pi shnayim" (literally "mouth two")
in Hebrew. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_fraction.

When you get the right number, you'll know it.
