Just add a zero and it is in millimeters. Why aren't all the 16ths and 32nds numbered on my Customary tapes? Obviously, space is limited and various space saving techniques are adopted.
I have seen a (very) few tapes marked in millimeters (every 10 mm with the final zero). My dual tape is annoying. The Customary side is "all inches" to 192" with the inches that are even feet in an alternate color. The metric side is 1 - 99 cm, then a meter mark in alternate color, then 1-99 cm again. The problem is that the nearest meter mark can be 0.5 m away, and when measuring, it is a slightly problem to see what meter you are within.
