I notice baggage limits on many airlines, including European airlines are now 23 kg (50 lb) per bag in economy and 32 kg (70 lb) in business. It does varies widely, I wonder how Lufthansa, Air France et al got talked into what is basically a pound limit on baggage mass? It's actually a shade more in pounds, but that's what the limits are derived from.
