This is a good point.  I sent the following message to both companies:

I am wondering as you are a European company your Standard baggage
regulations are not based on the metric system. I would rather see 25 kg and
35 kg, and then the conversion in pounds.
I hope you will list this item to be discussed among the airline companies
and the European authorities for aviation.

I notice baggage limits on many airlines, including European airlines are
now 23 kg (50 lb) per bag in economy and 32 kg (70 lb) in business. It does
varies widely, I wonder how Lufthansa, Air France et al got talked into what
is basically a pound limit on baggage mass? It's actually a shade more in
pounds, but that's what the limits are derived from.
