There is a petition on The White House website in support of metric.
This would be one way to contact the Obama administration.

Subject: [USMA:51916] Which candidate? Best for metric?

I was wondering if there is an opinion on which candidate would be more
friendly toward moving the U.S. to the SI metric system.
Barack Obama has endorsed some scientific principles but they seemed to
be more directed to issues involving gays and Roe vs Wade issues. None
of his "scientific" ideas even mentioned how we measure things in the
United States.
Mit Romney spent 2.5 years in France as a Mormon missionary. He should
have come be familiar with using the metric system while there.
Any comments?
