Hi

When you click on the link given, it wants you to sign into a Microsoft
exchange
site at Madison College. I think that is wrong. If I copied ctrl-c and pasted
it into the address bar, it gave me the correct link to the White House Web
site.

Anyway, Here is a short link to this site.

Subject: [USMA:52339] Whitehouse petition to update the FPLA

Hi Guys:
I'm sure you are all pleased we have over 35,000 signatures on a pro-metric
petition on the Whitehouse website. The problem is that general requests to
Congressmen or Senators often get ignored, because the representative doesn't
know what the requestor wants (or doesn't know much about the topic in question
in the first place.)

I posted a petition about a specific piece of legislation that, if we could
make
a serious effort to get Congressmen and Senators aware of it, we might be able
to take this baby step towards metrication. I am speaking of the metric-only
update of the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act. I think once the petition
becomes
"visible" to anyone searching the Whitehouse website it will start to attract
more signers, but we need 125 signatures to get the petition visible. Please
sign it, and ask any pro-metric people you know to sign it. Once it starts
picking up steam we can tell our Congressmen and Senators there is demand for
this legislation.

I include the URL that has to be used to access the petition until it becomes
visible to everybody. Thanks a lot for any help you can provide in this
endeavor.
