Woo Hoo! I am so glad about my opportunity to ask Senator Ron Wyden about
the amendment to the FPLA today. Questions were allowed by random ticket
numbers. Mine is 042684 and I was the fourth person allowed to ask Wyden a
question. During his introduction, Wyden on at least three occasions had
mentioned how this Town Hall Meeting is just as how our Founding Fathers
had intended the political process to be. I opened my question by saying
that he should be more thoughtful in extolling the virtues of our Founding
Fathers because they were slave owners who excluded women from the
political process. Wyden did admit that my point is well taken and many in
the audience applauded in agreement. Then I went on to point out that his
form-letter response to my email offered nothing more than a dead end. I
mentioned how LC44 is now SB166 and is based on Hawaii's HB 36. Wyden's
subordinate Fritz Graham came up to me when Wyden finished addressing the
FPLA amendment issue and assured me that his office will follow up with me.
As soon as I get the video (if it becomes available) of today's Town Hall
Meeting with Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon I will post it and let you
