Not only units of measurement a power devolved onto Congress, but it is a
power that Congress have repeated not exercised when they should have don
so.

I too believe that government generally interferes too much,
unconstitutionally, in the life of the citizen, but the issue of "fixing
weights and measures" is somewhat different.  It is a specific power
delegated to Congess by Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution.  It is
not an arrogated power, like so many others today, that Congress has taken
on outside the provisions of the Constitution.
