Readers might be interested in knowing how SI is doing on the other side 
of the globe:  Sort of mixed!  As usual, symbols are all mixed up, as in 
KM, Km, kms, etc.  Swimming pool depths are in feet, including 3.2 feet, 
and condominium areas are in square feet.  Fuel economy can be kmpl, 
mpg, or the correct way.  Acres are used, not hectares, unless you go up 
to multiple square kilometers. Distances are usually in km.  Speed is 
often kmh or kmH.  TV personalities speaking English sometimes use 
feet.  Official government signs, such as on a new stretch of highway, 
are much more likely to use the correct lingo.

Not too surprising, given the general state of chaos I observed!
